Translation of the Grand Journal interview
Michel Denisot: Let's start with Harry. You found the name 'One Direction', so you all agree about the direction you're going in?
Harry: I think so, yeah. You know it just meant that we're all kind of aiming for the same thing. I think that's it.
Ariane: Apparently you’re the one of the band who can’t hide his emotions?
Harry: Me? Why? *laughs*
Ariane: Everyone can tell when you’re happy or when you’re sad.
Louis: Isn’t that a good thing?
Harry: That’s good, right?
Ariane: Yeah sure
Harry: I'm not very good at being mysterious.
Michel Denisot: Louis, you are the one who's called 'Daddy Direction', so you are the one who makes sure that you guys don't get out of control too often?
Louis: That's pretty funny actually cause that's Liam, I'm quite immature to be honest.
Liam: I think the nature of our band is that we're a little bit crazy sometimes, you know we get told off a lot when we're messing about. Someone has got to kinda get us back on track, so I'm the daddy.
Ariane: So Louis, you are the confident one of the band.
Louis: Yeah... maybe. *Niall mumbles something* Thank you Niall.
China: For your fans who are here, can we have a clarification on your relationship status?
Liam: Right then, well erm..
Michel Denisot: Zayn, we're gonna start with you.
Zayn: I'm currently single
China: Let's go on
Liam: I'm with somebody.
Louis: I'm with somebody too.
China: Girls, we're losing..
Niall: I'm single.
China: And the last one, yes, we need to know!
Harry: I'm single.
China: Three books about you have already been published, there's a documentary about you, isn't it going a bit too fast for you? Do you manage to get used to the success?
Liam: I don't think it's going too quick you know, it's all thanks to these guys here *points to the fans* who have been on twitter and had a look at our music and our video and stuff on youtube. The reason why it all works is our fans and we have a great time doing it, so thank you very much.
Michel Denisot: You've managed to assemble the world's biggest producers around you really quickly : the producers of Britney Spears, Lady Gaga and Beyonce worked on your album, how did that happen?
Louis: I just think we've got a great record label with great connections.
Ariane: Harry, you're all kind of about to steal Justin Bieber's fame..?
Harry: I'm not quite sure about that, I think he's massive (...) there's five of us (the translator was speaking too loud, I couldn't hear anything of what Harry was saying but basically he said Justin's famous and there's enough space for everyone). We're doing our thing and I hope we'll be alright.
China: I just have last question for One Direction, one of you lost his shoe earlier? Who was it?
Fans: LIAM!
Liam: Yeah, yeah that was me.
China: What happened?
Liam: We were in a big crowd at the airport, well at the train station, walking away from the train station and people were pushing so I lost my shoe in the crowd.
